      Description

      Woodlands Lakes is one the best and most prolific venues in the North East and Yorkshire. Offering an excellent days sport for all pleasure anglers; separate and mixed lakes for carp, silvers and specimens. Weekly Open matches on the carp match lakes run Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday and in recent years have hosted Fish O’Mania qualifiers, Drennan Summer, Winter Leagues and many more. On a Monday we run an over 50’s match. We have our own on-site tackle shop ran by match anglers Craig and Jimmy Kent. It’s a well stocked shop with baits, terminal tackle and top quality advice always available. There are on-site facilities including toilets, showers, cafe, bar and restaurant.       This tournament is a just-for-fun way to see how club and open match anglers average net weights compare and rank to all other matches across the country.

      8s Weights Challenge

      The winner is the angler who has the best performance compared to the top eight in their match. Performance is measured by your net weight compared to the average net weight of the anglers in the top eight shown as a percentage.

      Club Match Hourly Bagger

      Club match anglers are ranked by the best average weight per hour and the top 3 positions win a percentage of the total entry prize pot. The remaining pot is distributed to the rest of the contestants in equal prizes each week.

      During the Summer season we had an amazing engagement from 7,468 unique anglers involved. We gave away over £10,000 in prizes and hosted a dedicated YouTube show, The Weigh-In , that followed the results of the anglers and matches in the tournament.

      During the Spring season we had an impressive engagement of 6,883 unique anglers. We introduced new ways to view and segment the results, and we also added a separate junior competition to highlight the promising young talent in the sport.
