      York Angling Promotions

We organise fishing matches and in the process raise funds for different charities. We host the York Tackle YAP SUPER SERIES, which consists of 8 matches across various venues, one a month from March to October, where the anglers top 5 results go towards their "Order of Merit" table position. We also host the "Big Fish Off" held at Lindholme Lakes during August of each year, the YAP Pairs, the Old Foggies match for those who are 50 years of age and over and the Individuals/Blind Pairs. All our matches are open events and based on a first come first serve basis.

      League Overview

Three matches, held over two days at Lindholme Lakes, will decide who will become The 2022 Hot Fishin Big Fish Off Champion. There are only 30 anglers maximum to fish the event which is held on the weekend of the 13th and 14th August 2022 and it is £65 all in entry covering all three matches. A deposit of £20 secures the anglers place with the remaining monies due on or before 1st August 2022. Points are awarded for your placing in each match. After the three matches the angler with the least points wins the event. In the event there is a tie for points the deciding factor will be total weight caught over the three matches. If the weight is the same then it will be a count back on where they were placed in each match. This means if two anglers are on the same points and weight but one has won one of the matches but another may have only been runner-up (even if runner-up in two matches) the angler with a match win will win the overall event. The match details are as follows: Day One 13th August 2022 Match One "The Hot Fishin Big Fish Off Open" Fishing the Laurels Lake (match fished 10am to 4pm). Peg draw take places on Friday 12th August 2022. Day Two 14th August 2022 Match Two "The Hot Fishin Rod Only Match" Fishing Loco Lake (match fished 10am to 1pm - 3 hour match) Peg draw takes place on Saturday 13th August 2022. Day Two 14th August 2022 Match Three "The Hot Fishin Five Fish Weigh In". You will be fishing the same lake and peg as in Match Two. (Match fished 1.45pm to 4.45pm - 3 hour match).
